A contract between the customer and The British Shoe Company will only exist once an order has been accepted, processed and dispatched. During which The British Shoe Company will charge the customer's credit/debit card for goods, including any postage charges when shipment is outside of the United Kingdom.

All reasonable care has been taken to ensure that the descriptions and colour matching are accurate. However, the reproduction of colours is only as accurate as photographic and publishing processes will allow.

As we are also a bricks and mortar store sometimes there may be minor creases or scratches on the shoes from being tried on in store, if their is any specific detractors from the product we will let you know ASAP.

Although we carry high stock levels at The British Shoe Company, we do rely on the manufacturer's stock. This can in turn cause minor delays on delivery times and on rare occasions the manufacturer may run out of certain items. With all orders placed with The British Shoe Company, the customer will be informed of any such delays as soon as reasonably possible.

Clearance items are generally in stock items and although every effort is taken to keep up to date with availability, due to the high volume of sales of these limited stock products occasionally some are out of stock.

Some sale items may have minor defects such as scratches or creases from being tried on. these would not detract from the look of the shoe or the quality.

We are unable to offer VAT free shopping at this time.

Availability and prices of our goods are subject to change without notice.

We do not hold customers credit card information.

Returns & Exchanges

We now offer Free returns for UK customers, to action a UK return please call 01722 410629 or email info@britishshoecompany.co.uk with your name and order number (starts BSC).

For full price items, If, for any reason, you are not entirely satisfied with your shoes you can return them to us within 28 days of receipt for a refund, or exchange as appropriate.

All sale products to be returned for exchange or refund must be actioned within 14 days of receipt.

It is very important that all items are returned to us in a saleable condition, so, when trying them on, please do not crease the uppers or scratch the finish on leather soles. They must be unworn and still in the original packaging with any labels, swing-tags, etc. still attached. 

We reserve the right to withhold part/all the payment if not returned in a saleable condition as described above.

Customers outside the UK pays the for return postage, if a genuine fault is found we will reimburse the cost of your postage, We suggest using insured postage as we are not liable for loss or damage in transit.

Please repackage the shoes as appropriate.

If you are returning more than 4 pairs of boots or shoes please split these into two or more packages, each will need its own label.

On receipt of the returned goods, we will either exchange the goods, these will be sent to you free of carriage charges (UK only) for products totalling £20 or more and for an additional £5 for product totalling £19.99 or less, or refund to the original method of payment the full price paid for the items returned to us, excluding overseas postage costs. Although usually very quick please allow 5 working days for refunds.

Discounts, Sales & Clearance

All discount codes are for use on full priced products only unless explicitly stated, this includes automatically applied discounts such as Black Friday. Some discounts are single use and some are for multiple transactions.

All sale and clearance items are genuine sale items, some may be discontinued by either ourselves or the manufacturer and some may be items we wish to offer at a reduced rate for a certain time.

What does Pre-Order mean?

Pre-order products are available to purchase now and will be shipped to you as soon as we receive the item at British Shoe Company (BSC).

On the product information page, you will find the current ETA. This is the estimated date that our suppliers have given us for stock to arrive at BSC.

Your order will be shipped out on the day that the stock arrives at BSC, with the rare exception that it arrives too late in the day or during the weekend, in which case it will be shipped the following working day. 

Orders are processed on a first come first served basis.

Your card will be charged in full on placement of the order. We will send email updates to you to confirm estimated arrival dates.

You can cancel or amend your order anytime before the order has been dispatched to you.

Free Gifts

From 26/3/19 We are now offering a free gift of a Care Kit worth at least £27.50 with every full price purchase of shoes or boots over the value of £150. This cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount or reduction.

We will supply A polishing cloth, A buffing brush and the relevant colour cream and polish to the purchased boots where applicable.

If suede shoes or boots are purchased we will supply A cloth, A suede/nubuck brush and a can of both cleaner and a protector, in its place up to the same value.

To claim your free gift, please add the promotional product to your cart prior to checkout. The discount is applied automatically at the checkout, at which point your free gift will be included on your order confirmation with £0.00 value. If you fail to add the promotional product to your order, the item will not appear in any confirmation notifications.
Please check your order confirmation.

All orders placed with a qualifying spend, placed during the promotional period will be eligible to receive the appropriate free gift (whilst stocks last, 1 per order).

Customers can not choose what free gift they will receive.

We do not automatically send the promotional gift unless you expressly requested them by adding the Product to your cart. If you do not add the appropriate product to the cart, we cannot guarantee the free gift with will be dispatched.

All free gifts are; subject to availability, non-transferable and there are no cash alternatives.
Entrants agree to be bound by these Rules.

No cash alternatives are offered. No part of the gift is exchangeable for cash 
or any other gift.

If for any reason (excluding faulty products and at our discretion) the original Shoe or boot purchase is returned to the British Shoe Company so too must the free gift, in an unused resalable state. We reserve the right to withhold part/all the payment if not returned in a saleable condition.

The Terms above are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be conducted only by the Courts of England and Wales.
