Description

Connaught 2, an update on the original classic straight cap oxford now on last 379. Made from the finest black calf leather with Crockett & Jones' City rubber sole. 

The most easily recognisable of all classic styles, is the elegant English Oxford. A formal style that dates back over two hundred years, it is thought to have been named by the students at Oxford University, although it is almost certain that the style predates this ‘naming’ further still. The sequence of operations for constructing an Oxford differs to a Derby. The Inside and outside Quarters are stitched underneath the Vamp and the tongue is stitched in separately underneath the Quarters/Vamp/Facing. Often referred to as ‘Closed Lacing’.

Crockett & Jones Burnished Calf leather is made from European calf skins from the finest tanneries, available in a range of rich aniline dyed colours. The strong tannage will ensure that this leather will, if regularly polished, last for many years to come.

The 379 Last has a classical round toe. Taking its toe shape (only) from the long appreciated 236 last, this updated version has been remodelled and reformed to produce an exceptional last for formal business Oxfords. The resulting last is a traditional and recognisable Crockett & Jones toe shape that has been blended with an excellent fitting and technically superior last throughout the joint, the cone, the waist and full back-part.

FREE UK Delivery on orders of £50 or more. For orders under £50 delivery will cost £8.00.

Delivery Times

We endeavour to dispatch orders on a next working day basis, please allow up to 10 working days per delivery, although most orders will be significantly quicker.

Returns

There is a return fee of £8 if using the prepaid delivery label included with your order. Exchanges are free for orders over £50.
